Choosing my own path – despite, or even because of, (chronic) illness

From Johanna Schneider - Holistic Health Coach

There were times in my life when I had maybe one good week a month.

One week in which I could think, feel, plan, and live with some sense of clarity.

The rest was a constant struggle against exhaustion, pain, despair, and inner restlessness. PMDD, HPU, gut issues, burnout — each of these challenges has shaped my life in its own unique way.

And yet (or perhaps because of that), I never stopped believing in my own path.

"You are not here to function perfectly. You are here to lovingly inhabit yourself."

Johanna Schneider

I traveled the world alone, worked on a cruise ship, and saw 63 countries along the way. I lived in Spain for six years, became fluent in English and Spanish, immersed myself in different cultures — and continually rediscovered myself.

Today, I am living my next dream: I travel and work from a campervan, combining freedom with purpose, and as a Holistic Health Coach, I support others in finding their strength again.

I have learned that it is never in spite of an illness, but right in the midst of it. That there isn’t one perfect moment — you create it yourself, with all your boundaries, wounds, and strengths.

Because especially when your body doesn’t always cooperate, it becomes clear: you only have this one life. And it is your responsibility to live it as lovingly and courageously as possible.

If you see yourself in my words, then you’re in exactly the right place. Welcome to my blog.

I’m grateful for the chance to walk a part of your journey with you.
