Living in Being – not in Constant Doing

Animals live in being, not in constant doing.

They:

  • don’t constantly think about the future

  • don’t analyze their past

  • don’t continuously try to optimize themselves

An animal does not ask: “Am I productive enough?” or “Am I doing everything right?”

It simply is.

And this is one of the most important lessons for us:

We don’t have to constantly perform to be “enough.”

Why our nervous system relaxes around animals

Many people live in a constant state of stress. The nervous system is in survival mode – shaped by pressure, overstimulation, and constant availability.

Animals, on the other hand, send subtle signals of safety:

  • calm, steady breathing

  • clear body language

  • no hidden stress or masking

  • authentic, natural presence

Our nervous system responds automatically.

It recognizes:👉 Here is safety👉 Here is clarity👉 Here is authenticity

And this is why it is often easier for us to relax around animals than around humans.

Animals follow their feelings – not external pressure

Another important difference is that animals follow their intuition.

They:

  • rest when they are tired

  • eat when they are hungry

  • withdraw when they need space

  • respond directly to their needs

Humans, however, often lose connection to these signals.

We:

  • eat by schedule instead of hunger

  • ignore fatigue

  • override stress signals

  • keep functioning even when the body clearly says stop

Animals remind us what it feels like to listen to the body again.

Animals do not stay in chronic stress

An animal can experience stress – but it does not stay stuck in it.

After a stressful moment, it:

  • shakes it off

  • moves

  • breathes deeply

  • releases tension

The nervous system naturally returns to regulation.

For humans, it is often the opposite: stress gets stored in the body.

  • thoughts keep circling

  • tension remains

  • the body struggles to fully relax

The result can be exhaustion, digestive issues, and emotional overwhelm.

What we can learn from animals

Animals show us something very simple – but powerful:

✨ 1. You are allowed to slow down - Not every moment needs to be productive.

✨ 2. Your body has its own intelligence - When you start listening, it guides you.

✨ 3. Safety is the foundation of balance - Balance begins when the nervous system feels safe.

✨ 4. Regulation happens in the body, not only in the mind - Breath, movement, and presence are essential.

✨ 5. You are allowed to simply be - Without roles, pressure, or performance.

The connection to holistic health

A regulated nervous system is the foundation for:

  • stable digestion

  • hormonal balance

  • emotional stability

  • energy and clarity

That’s why in my work as a Holistic Health Coach, I don’t focus only on nutrition, but also on:

  • nervous system regulation

  • movement & breath (e.g. TriloChi®)

  • emotional support

  • stress reduction

  • reconnecting with the body

Because real change does not happen through pressure –it happens through safety, understanding, and connection.

Final thoughts

Animals don’t teach us anything complicated. They simply remind us of something deeply human:

👉 what it feels like to be in your body👉 what it means to trust your inner signals👉 how balance arises through presence and calm

Maybe that is why we feel so good around them.

Not because they give us something –but because they remind us of who we already are.

💙

If you feel disconnected, overwhelmed, or exhausted, you don’t have to go through it alone. I support you in reconnecting with your body, step by step.
